MIPMAPMOP: a monthly income plan, a representation, a household implement
Natasha Loewy & Morgann Nieto
When we found out we would be in a show together, we decided to take an improv class. In improv, everyone’s success is entwined, which became our approach for the show.
MIPMAPMOP is a monthly income plan, a representation, and a household implement. It is a painting of a dog, a weaving made from recycled cans, and tiny oysters that move (creating an abundance of tiny sounds). This show is about embracing the accidental circumstances that sometimes become our most prized possessions. It is about negotiating family life and disability and participating even when it’s hard. It ties together intimate moments of joy and struggle with broader ideas about interconnectedness and interdependence.
One of the highlights of preparing for this exhibition was making a friend.
